CREATIVE

Assistant Creative Manager

Dallas, TX

Job Description:

At GSE Live, we believe great creative does more than look good. It makes people feel something, brings brands to life, and creates experiences worth remembering.

We're looking for an Assistant Creative Manager who combines exceptional design craftsmanship with big-picture creative thinking.

Part senior designer, part conceptual creative, and part emerging creative leader, this person knows how to turn a strong idea into exceptional work. Someone who can think strategically, concept confidently, design beautifully, and help push creative projects from initial inspiration through final execution.

You'll work across sports, entertainment, experiential marketing, brand partnerships, and integrated campaigns, collaborating with creative, strategy, account, and production teams to bring ambitious ideas to life.

This is a hands-on creative role for someone who takes pride in the details but never loses sight of the bigger idea.

Job Duties

Creative Concepting & Art Direction

• Develop compelling creative concepts for brand campaigns, sponsorship activations, experiential programs, and integrated marketing initiatives.

• Translate creative briefs, business objectives, and consumer insights into original, strategically grounded ideas.

• Contribute to the creative vision and visual direction of projects, from initial concept development through execution.

• Build visual territories, moodboards, design systems, campaign concepts, and creative presentations that clearly communicate an idea.

• Help establish and maintain a consistent creative vision across multiple deliverables and consumer touchpoints.

• Bring fresh perspectives informed by culture, design, sports, entertainment, fashion, technology, and emerging creative trends.

Design Excellence & Execution

• Create exceptional design work across digital, print, social, experiential, environmental graphics, and brand communications.

• Demonstrate mastery of fundamental design principles, including typography, composition, hierarchy, layout, color theory, scale, and visual storytelling.

• Develop visual identities, campaign key art, presentation design, branded content, event graphics, digital assets, and marketing collateral.

• Translate a creative concept into a cohesive visual system that works across multiple formats, platforms, and environments.

• Maintain a high standard of craftsmanship, ensuring every detail is intentional, polished, and aligned with the creative vision.

• Balance innovative creative thinking with real-world production requirements, budgets, timelines, and brand guidelines.

• Remain hands-on in the design process, from early exploration and concept development to final production-ready files.

Creative Leadership & Collaboration

• Partner with creative leadership to develop, refine, and elevate concepts and creative executions.

• Take ownership of assigned projects, helping guide creative work from briefing through final delivery.

• Provide thoughtful creative feedback and art direction to designers and external creative partners as needed.

• Support and mentor junior creatives, helping strengthen design fundamentals, conceptual thinking, and execution.

• Collaborate closely with strategy, account management, experiential, and production teams to ensure creative ideas are both inspiring and executable.

• Participate in brainstorms, creative reviews, and client presentations, clearly articulating the thinking behind the work.

• Help identify opportunities to improve creative processes, consistency, and overall quality across the department.

Experiential & Integrated Brand Experiences

• Concept and design creative solutions for live events, sponsorship activations, fan experiences, branded environments, and integrated campaigns.

• Understand how creative ideas translate into physical spaces, digital interactions, and real-world consumer experiences.

• Collaborate with 3D designers, fabricators, and production teams to bring creative concepts to life.

• Ensure brand storytelling and visual consistency across physical, digital, social, and experiential touchpoints.

• Think beyond individual assets to consider the full consumer journey and how creative connects across channels.

Job Qualifications

Design Fundamentals & Creative Ability

• Exceptional graphic design fundamentals are essential. A strong understanding of typography, layout, composition, hierarchy, color, and visual communication is non-negotiable.

• A portfolio demonstrating outstanding design craftsmanship, conceptual thinking, and a clear point of view.

• The ability to develop original creative concepts, not simply execute against an existing direction.

• Strong art direction instincts and an understanding of how to create cohesive, elevated visual systems.

• An excellent eye for detail, design consistency, and production quality.

• The ability to communicate complex ideas through compelling visuals, presentations, and storytelling.

• Comfort moving between high-level concept development and detailed, hands-on design execution.

Experience & Technical Skills

• 5–8 years of professional design experience, ideally within a creative agency, experiential agency, brand studio, or related environment.

• Proven experience developing creative concepts and executing integrated campaigns across multiple channels.

• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.

• Strong PowerPoint and presentation design skills, including the ability to develop visually compelling client-facing creative decks.

• Experience with digital design, social content, and campaign development.

• Working knowledge of production processes for print, digital, large-format, and environmental graphics.

• Experience with Figma, motion graphics, video editing, 3D design, or AI-assisted creative workflows is a plus.

• Bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communication, advertising, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

Mindset & Leadership

• A designer's eye with a creative director's mindset.

• Naturally curious, conceptually driven, and passionate about creating work that stands out.

• Comfortable taking ownership while remaining collaborative and open to feedback.

• Confident presenting ideas, explaining design decisions, and contributing to creative discussions.

• Able to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.

• Proactive, resourceful, organized, and solutions-oriented.

• Willing to challenge the expected, explore new approaches, and continuously elevate the creative output.

• Equally comfortable leading a creative conversation and rolling up their sleeves to execute.

What Success Looks Like

• Consistently delivering thoughtful, visually exceptional creative work.

• Bringing original ideas and strategic thinking to the table, not just responding to requests.

• Elevating the overall quality and consistency of design across projects.

• Helping transform creative concepts into cohesive, memorable brand experiences.

• Building trust with creative leadership, internal partners, and clients through strong ideas and reliable execution.

• Contributing to a creative culture that values curiosity, collaboration, experimentation, and exceptional craft.
